LITTLE OLIVER'S LIFE JOURNEY

Saudah Nalweyiso was happy to learn that she was expecting a baby in a couple of months and she was excited just like any other mother-to-be would feel.In May 2010 her husband left her and never returned home.Life was never the same for her since her he was the bread winner of the family.
Time came and she gave birth to little Oliver who has Hydrocepholous,a cleft pallet and an eye problem which we don't know yet.
When I and my friend Wilfred Rugumba arrived at Saudah's house she was so happy and welcomed us into her sister's house where she is now living since she can not afford renting a house(will come back to that later).
She has has been to many places looking for help but all hasn't been easy, she went to see a doctor and she was advised to take the 3 months old Little Oliver for a CT scan which required her money and she couldn't afford it.With lots of pain she decided to return home and take each day as it comes since she lost hope.

As she narrated her story to us I felt like breaking down but had to control myself and I thank God I was able to do it.
Am 100% Ugandan and I see suffering almost everyday on the streets,in homes,on TV I mean almost everywhere but there are cases which totally move me and leave me asking myself "WHY THIS?" "WHY THAT?" I know God has the best plans for all of us since He created us in His image and I feel its upon us to make this world a better place where everyone can smile.Little Oliver needs to be shown that love and care.We are jsut humans and we can't change much but I believe we CAN make her look at life in the way you and me look at it.
Each child needs a decent life and I would like this to be realised. Can't wait to see little Oliver grow and smile and enjoy life like the kids next door.

Tommorow morning I will take her to Mbale to see a Neurosurgeon who is a specialist of kids with hydrocepolous and have CT scan done.Pray that all goes well so that Little Oliver can see light at the end of the tunnel so she can enjoy the journey of life just like YOU and ME.

  1. that's so good from you Seggy, I'll pray for you and Oliver may God be with you.

We have two different cases in Bujumbura, I still don't know what to do. Let me know the end of the story and what's going on.

  2. This crushes me!! Poor little thing. :( I have lived all my life with hydrocephalus, and no one would ever know to look at me. I am 44 yo, and I would expect this generation to do so much better. This is a completely preventable situation and a horrible tragedy for this child. Bless him!!
